Vanity

"There is no harmony under this mahogany,
Cackling cacophony in the vicinity"
bickered an observing Duck.

"Ducklings that sink in water
as clear as my shiny feathers
Will swim best 'gainst the tide of the pond
And in the sesame oil of the Cook's pan.
Tadpoles that live as fast as they die
never know their mother
Yet guide themselves better in waters"

"Pooh! A duckling that can't swim!
What ominous box'll be opened next,
Ducklings that wish to soar aloft
Like the Skylark?"

The passing hands'd maimed past pains.
The complaining bird with feathers
as white as December snow
,too, was once a yellow mess.
The young nincompoop
,too, had longed to flap her wings
and explore the endless sky,
The pining fool climbed the nearest hedge
only to betray her dreams.

She, too, was a terrible swimmer;
the slowest of her siblings
Had Mother Duck missed to see her
in the twirling current,
her bickering
like her silvery feathers would've glided
in Eternity
Where dreams meet
and Pride ends.

Orpheus and Eurydice II

Thus wary Orpheus
wailed upon the strand of Styx
and whilst Cheron turned awry,
the enchanter of Olympians
ruptured a dirge to his errs.

"Eurydice, thy visage
that entwines
The lyre with the heart,
A sole gaze to tune
the requiems rhapsodies"

"Thou, wing-footed
Hermes
 bring me my soul
from her captivity that
captivates my Mirth"

"Or a breath of wish
Breathed by my
Whisperer of Dreams"

"In this ravished melody,
Let unravished notes
tune the strings".

I invoke thee, Melancholy

In all things beauty, I invoke thee,Melancholy
Dispel afar feigning Aphrodite;
Thou, Ravisher of all things beauty,
Thou, bitterer of meek maidens pretty,

Preserve thy charm aloft with Ares
Forever 'twined in that infidel malice
And shield thy visage 'gainst blunt blemish
Worrying yonder youth belonged to Hades.

Half-parented Guardian of lustful envy
Bound ever to serve the half-footed deity
Bequeath glee to persuading Psyche
Or ever serve Athena, thou sisters of envy.

Thou, foamy fumes piercing the lover’s bosom,
Muddling that aroused youth’s freedom,
Thou art Witherer of the budding blossom
Elegies’ Muse, Poets’ mirth and Lovers’ bottom.

Dispel afar ,thou, feigning Aphrodite!
In all things lovely, I invoke thee, Melancholy.
